Official instructional materials for the second three years (grades 7-9) of the Manitoba Department of Education's core French language program are presented. These materials, intended for teachers, consist of units of instruction for each year, which contain notes for the teacher, suggestions for class activities, materials for student use, and exercises and games for classroom use. Seventh grade content includes a revision unit on listening and speech skills, a unit on reading and writing skills, units on science (geography and the solar system) and numbers, and notes on evaluation. Eighth grade content includes units on food and sports and notes on evaluation. Ninth grade content consists of a lengthy unit on communication, including general material and material on television, telephone, radio, and theater and film. (MSE)
