This curriculum and teaching guide outlines the ISTEP (Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress) 1988 Summer Remediation Program in reading, language, and mathematics provided for students in grades 1, 2, 3, and 6 who did not pass the minimum state standards for promotion to the next grade level based on the results of the ISTEP test. The major sections of the guide cover the reading curriculum, language curriculum, and the mathematics curriculum. The guide includes the following minor sections: (1) a foreword; (2) ISTEP achievement standards; (3) program logistics and schedule; (4) waiver provisions for both remediation and retention waivers; (5) ISTEP extended learning progress reports for the first, second, third, and sixth grades; and (6) guidelines for curriculum development for ISTEP extended learning program.
