This learning module, which is part of a staff development program for health occupations clinical instructors, is intended to teach clinical instructors how to select evaluation instruments that are appropriate for the clinical settings in which they are teaching. It includes learning activities dealing with written examination and observational instruments and methods of critiquing and selecting them. Besides the learning activities, the module also includes directions for completing the module, an introduction, module objectives, pre- and posttests and answer keys, definitions of key terms used in the module, a module summary, and references.
