This learning module, which is part of a staff development program for health occupations clinical instructors, discusses the process of managing the physical clinical environment and students' experiences within the clinical environment. It includes learning activities dealing with various aspects of managing the physical environment and student experiences, including setting up facilities for keeping needed resources on hand, establishing rules and guidelines for a safe environment, devising a filing system for important documents and forms, developing a time and rotation schedule for students, motivating students to perform required tasks, and promoting positive discipline. Besides the learning activities, the module also includes directions for completing the module, an introduction, module objectives, pre- and posttests and answer keys, definitions of key terms used in the module, a module summary, and references.
