This learning module, which is part of a staff development program for health occupations clinical instructors, discusses using the techniques of questioning and problem solving in a clinical instructional setting. It includes learning activities dealing with the importance of using questions in the clinical setting, levels of questions in the cognitive domain, affective questioning in the clinical setting, ways of improving the quality of questioning, and strategies for helping students develop problem-solving skills. Besides the learning activities, the module also includes directions for completing the module, an introduction, module objectives, pre- and posttests and answer keys, definitions of key terms used in the module, a module summary, and references.
