Beginning with the 1985-86 school year, the Texas Educational Assessment of Minimum Skills (TEAMS) tests have been based on the objectives provided in this publication for teachers and test development specialists. For grade 7, mathematics objectives include the ability to: (1) convert decimals or percents to equivalents; (2) add and subtract fractions; (3) add, subtract, and multiply decimals; (4) solve two-step word problems with basic operations; (5) solve two-step word problems with decimals; (6) convert measurements within metric or customary systems; (7) identify common geometric terms and figures; (8) find the perimeter of polygons; (9) use charts and graphs to solve word problems; (10) determine the number of possible outcomes for a given situation; and (11) solve one-step equations. Samples are included for each skill area. (SLD)
