These checklists developed by the Association of College and Research Libraries to provide guidelines for the organization of a bibliographic instruction program cover the following areas: (1) preliminary planning, including needs assessment and research; (2) developing goals and objectives; (3) gaining and maintaining support from within and outside the library; (4) administering the program, including staffing, budgeting, space requirements, and publicity; (5) instructional methods and materials; (6) instructor training; and (7) evaluating the program.
