This report from the Toomer Elementary School in Atlanta (Georgia) provides information on student achievement for the 1986-87 school year. The narrative presents eight findings concerning enrollment, attendance, reading achievement, and math achievement. Conclusions and recommendations generated from these findings are the following: (1) student basal progress exceeded expectations in most grades; (2) most grades did not reach the system goals on the basic skills test; (3) results for grade three on the criterion-referenced test were very low; and (4) attention and remediation should be given in kindergarten and third grade.
