This report from the Peterson Elementary School in Atlanta (Georgia) provides information on student achievement for the 1986-87 school year. The narrative presents 14 findings concerning enrollment, attendance, reading achievement, and math achievement. Conclusions and recommendations generated from these findings are the following: (1) the percentage of basal progress was higher than the systemwide percentage of basal progress in reading and math; (2) reading achievement on the basic skills test was lower than the systemwide level, but achievement was higher than the systemwide level in math; (3) on the criterion-referenced test the first-grade scores were higher than the systemwide level in reading; (4) third- and seventh-grade student achievement was lower than the systemwide level; and (5) special efforts should be made to increase the number of students scoring at or above national norms in basic skills.
