This report from the Peterson Elementary School in Atlanta (Georgia) provides information on student achievement for the 1986-87 school year. The narrative presents 14 findings concerning enrollment, attendance, reading achievement, and math achievement. Conclusions and recommendations generated from these findings are the following: (1) the percentage of basal progress was higher than the systemwide percentage of basal progress in reading and math; (2) reading achievement on the basic skills test was lower than the systemwide level, but achievement was higher than the systemwide level in math; (3) on the criterion-referenced test the first-grade scores were higher than the systemwide level in reading; (4) third- and seventh-grade student achievement was lower than the systemwide level; and (5) special efforts should be made to increase the number of students scoring at or above national norms in basic skills. Descriptive statistics and test scores are presented in 17 tables. (VM)
