This report from the Murphy High School in Atlanta (Georgia) provides information on student achievement for the 1986-87 school year. The narrative presents nine findings concerning enrollment, attendance, reading achievement, and math achievement. Conclusions and recommendations generated from these findings are the following: (1) test results were below the system average; (2) a low percentage of students met the systemwide goal of at least 50 percent at or above the national norm; (3) poor attendance and mobility increases had an adverse affect on student performance; (4) there must be a continuation of remediation for low performing students; and (5) the positive spirit of the administration and faculty must be maintained.
