Vivona, Carol
This report from the Miles Elementary School in Atlanta (Georgia) provides information on student achievement for the 1986-87 school year. The narrative presents 23 findings concerning enrollment, attendance, reading achievement, and math achievement. Conclusions and recommendations generated from these findings are the following: (1) there was considerable growth in student performance in both reading and math; (2) the systemwide goal that at least 50 percent of the students achieve at or above the national norm was met in reading at all grade levels except the first, and in math at all levels except the sixth; (3) partial success was achieved in meeting systemwide goals on the criterion-referenced test; (4) basal progress was excellent in both reading and math; and (5) efforts to progress through the basal materials and to integrate skills into the curriculum should be continued. Statistics and test scores are presented in 17 tables. (VM)
