This report from the Dunbar Elementary School in Atlanta (Georgia) provides information on student achievement for the 1986-87 school year. The narrative presents eight findings concerning enrollment, reading achievement, and math achievement. Conclusions and recommendations generated from these findings are the following: (1) basal progress was above system performance; (2) achievement test results improved; (3) scores on the basic skills test reached system goals; (4) first grade results on the criterion-referenced test were above the system level; and (5) the academic efforts and the caring atmosphere of the school helped children to excel and should be continued.
