Proceedings of the IBM Academic Information Systems University AEP Conference: "Tools for Learning" (2nd, San Diego, California, April 5-8, 1986).
Dwyer, Frederick D., Ed.
Advanced Education Projects (AEPs) are a series of multidisciplinary, advanced experiments in educational computing supported by IBM and currently in progress at 19 leading universities. Each AEP has established a series of curricular experiments to explore the use of workstations and network technologies as part of the instructional process. The individual papers presented at this conference are grounded in five broad subject areas: (1) Social Science and Statistics; (2) Humanities and the Arts/Design; (3) Physical and Life Sciences; (4) Tools for Learning (software tools, graphics, and subject matter that crosses discipline areas); and (5) Engineering. Graphs, charts, data tables, and references are included for several reports, and indexes by presenter/author and university are provided for each section. A list of program committee members is provided, and an alphabetical listing of all of the authors and their locations is attached. This proceedings volume was originally published containing all 82 reports on IBM's Advanced Education Projects (AEPs) given at the "Tools for Learning" conference. However, 18 papers have copyright restrictions and have not been included in the volume processed (and microfilmed) here. (KM)
