Administrative Compensation Survey, 1985-86.
Anderson, Shari L.; And Others
Results of the College and University Personnel Association (CUPA) 1985-86 Administrative Compensation Survey, which provides salary data on 99 first-line (primary) positions and 69 second-line (secondary) positions, are presented. Questionnaires were sent to 2,932 higher education institutions, and 1,612 usable responses were obtained. Salary data indicate the median and interquartile range for each position and are presented for: all institutions, public and private institutions, church related colleges, system offices, two- and four-year institutions, and two-year technical colleges. Salary data are provided by institutional classification, sector, full-time equivalent enrollment range, and institutional budget range. Additional data compare median salaries of those who were promoted or transferred to their positions from within the institution and those who were hired from outside. Information is also presented on minority and nonminority status, sex, years of service, the frequency distribution of all salaries for each position by type of institution, and comparative four-year college salary data for 495 institutions. Appendices, which comprise about half the document, include a list of responding institutions, summary position descriptions, and a questionniare. (SW)
