Spencerport Central Schools More Effective Schools/Teaching Project Documents, Second Series.
Spencerport Central Schools, NY.
During the 1982-83 school year the Spencerport (New York) Central School District began a comprehensive project to study the effective schools research and its implications at all levels of a suburban school system. A leadership planning team (consisting of teachers, principals, and district personnel) participated in a series of workshops and submitted a districtwide master plan to the superintendent and board of education. Each school then developed its own action plan based upon results of a disaggregated analysis of student achievement and a needs assessment profile of the building. These plans have been implemented during the school years 1983-84, 1984-85, and 1985-86. This five-part collection of documents produced during the years of the Spencerport project includes the following titles: "Third Annual Report, September 1986;""Executive Summary of the Third Annual Report" (Robert E. Sudlow); "Fourth Overview of the More Effective Schools/Teaching Project, October 1986;""Effective Schools/Teaching Project: Its Impact on a Senior High Principal" (Wilbur R. Selander); and "Staff Development Implications of an Effective Schools Project" (Bonnie Seaburn and Robert Sudlow). (IW)
