The learning objectives and the measurement specifications cited in this document are congruent with the Texas State Board of Education Rules for Curriculum. The objectives are provided for teachers and for test developers involved with the preparation of the Texas Educational Assessment of Mimimum Skills (TEAMS) tests. As of 1985-86 academic year, the TEAMS mathematics tests for grade 1 are based on the following objectives: (1) identify the correct solution to a problem involving number sequence; (2) identify the place value for a given problem; (3) identify the correct solution to a problem involving number comparison; (4) add two whole numbers whose sum is less than 20; (5) subtract a one-digit whole number from a whole number less than 20; (6) solve a one-step word problem involving addition/subtraction of whole numbers; (7) identify the correct time to the hour or half-hour; and (8) identify a named geometric shape. For each objective, this document provides a description of the test questions, a description of the answer choices and an example test question. (JAZ)
