Chapter 2 presents a model for computer use in education, including guidelines for teaching about computers and programming, for computer-assisted learning (CAI), and for computer-managed instruction (CMI), and a model for utilizing computers in educational administration. Planning for the introduction of computers in K-12 instruction is outlined in chapter 3, and chapter 4 describes the process for implementing a district plan, including guidelines for staff development; software and hardware selection, acquisition, and management; and program integration. A chart suggesting the scope and sequence of computer education is included, and indicates possible grade spans for introductory, developmental, and review activities. Chapter 5 provides a list of questions that may be helpful in evaluating and/or modifying the district plan.
