Guidelines are offered in this manual for develping a physical education curriculum for grades 9 through 12. The primary objective for the curriculum is the development of physical fitness, and motor and life skills in students. Activities are recommended in the areas of team and individual sports, aquatics and rhythm, and Alaska outdoor activities. The guide lists Topics/Concepts, Learning Outcomes/Objectives, and Sample Learning Activities. "Topics/Concepts" define broadly the content to be included in the study of each subject area. "Learning Outcomes/ Objectives" describe the behaviors which students are expected to demonstrate as a result of their learning experiences. "Sample Learning Activities" are given as indicators of student progress toward the stated goals, i.e., the learning outcomes. (JD)
