Information is repackaged to assist population education information centers in their goal of facilitating the appropriate dissemination and use of information. Repackaging of information refers to the presentation of information in more understandable, readable, acceptable, and usable forms. This manual includes (1) guidelines for choosing repackaging activities; (2) identifying user groups, their information needs and corresponding repackaging activities; and (3) strategies for repackaging of population education information. This third section on strategies for repackaging makes up the bulk of the document and formats discussed include: accessions list, bibliographies, selective dissemination of information, literature reviews, case studies, state-of-the-art, abstracts, excerpts/extracts, reprints, handbooks/manuals, packages, translations, directories/inventories, newsletters, news sheets, news service, and audio-visuals.
