Preparation for Employment: A Multicultural Curriculum.
Lynch, James
Concerns about the way in which European secondary school curriculum may respond to social and technical change and the needs of the individual and society are addressed in this paper. One way to do this to through multicultural education. Six curricular strategies are identified as responses to the technological changes and six strategies address changes in society and the individual. It is suggested that in order to draw the technical and societal spheres more closely together into a multicultural concept a review of the curriculum be undertaken from four perspectives: focus, content, process, and evaluation. Finally 13 critical areas are identified as potential weakness for such a multicultural program. A list of references is included. (JEH)
