This document consists of a collection of thoughts, observations, descriptions, definitions, diagrams, models, suggestions, guidelines, and forms pertaining to curriculum development and instructional planning at the elementary and secondary level. Among the specific topics addressed in one or more of the materials collected here are the objectives of curriculum development, the development process, the components of curriculum design, the roles of the personnel involved, ideal and actual curriculum design and development models, the planning of development cycles, the characteristics of scope and sequence planning, procedures for development of scope and sequence manuals, suggestions for involving personnel, methods for organizing personnel, processes and responsibilities of planning committees, and cognitive and affective behavioral objectives for the classroom.
