Multi-Arts Service Program, E.C.I.A. Chapter 2. Final Evaluation Report, 1984-85.
District of Columbia Public Schools, Washington, DC. Div. of Quality Assurance.
The District of Columbia's Multi-Arts Service Program, in its third year of implementation (1984-85), is a multi-disciplinary program in music, dance, theater, and visual arts. The program's primary objectives are to (1) increase student awareness of the arts through assemblies, (2) increase student interest in the arts through lecture-demonstrations, and (3) increase student interest in pursuing the study of the arts through workshops. The assemblies, lecture-demonstrations, and workshops are developed and presented by teachers and students from Duke Ellington School of the Arts. The findings show that all objectives were reached, demonstrating the goal of providing students with increased awareness of and interest in the arts as a vital force in their lives through performance and participation. Appendices, which make up the bulk of the document, contains the evaluation model schema; student awareness and interest questionnaires; a sample press release and programs for assemblies; a summary of arts awareness survey data; a survey of interest letter and questionnaire; student interest rating scales; a performer questionnaire; workshop request form; lecture-demonstration rating scales; questionnaire responses for dance, music, visual arts, and drama participants; and a summary of the workshop.
