Associate Degree Nursing Program Guide. Final Report from February 19, 1985 to August 31, 1985.
Seminole Community Coll., Sanford, FL.
This program guide is intended to help Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) instructors in Florida develop and/or update ADN programs. The first part is the final report of the project that developed the guide. Section I of the guide provides a description of the occupation, student admission criteria, retention and withdrawal standards, and program standards. A program outline contains a program description and a sample generic "integrated model" curriculum and a sample "nursing model" licensed practical nurse (LPN) to ADN transition curriculum. Generic ADN course outlines and LPN to ADN transition program course outlines include course descriptions, placement, time allotment, course objectives, units of instruction, texts, and evaluation methods. Other contents of section I are a listing of student performance standards, clinical competencies, and information on student organizations. Section II defines faculty standards. Section III addresses facilities, including facility design criteria and lists of equipment for simulated client care and audiovisual and instructional equipment. In section IV on instructional resources are found information on clinical agencies' contractual agreements and listings of print learning resources (textbooks and periodical literature), publishers (and addresses) of audiovisual software learning resources, and addresses of professional organizations and support services. Appendixes include sample forms and materials from ADN programs. (YLB)
