The amounts, types, and sources of financial aid received by Illinois college students are reported, based on the 1985 Illinois Student Financial Aid Survey. Data are provided for 332,868 Illinois students attending 168 public and private colleges and universities. Included are a narrative discussion of the findings, including the growth and distribution of financial aid for the past 5 years, and detailed statistical tables for 1985, as well as comparative sector data for the past 10 fiscal years. The number and value of awards, loans, and campus jobs provided to students are reported by source, type, program, sector, institution, and level. Data are provided for public universities, community colleges, and private institutions. The sources of aid include federal and state funding, institutionally-sponsored programs, and a variety of other sources, including student loan programs. Financial aid is classified into four types: grants, tuition waivers, loans, and employment. Employment data include only on-campus student employment. Appended are a list of the participating institutions, the fiscal year 1985 survey, and instructions and definitions for the survey. (SW)
