A compilation of provisions of the 1976 Code of Laws of South Carolina is presented, including the 1984 Cumulative Supplement, which relate to postsecondary education. Included are copies of Executive Orders issued by the Governor that affect postsecondary education. Certain acts that have not been codified are also included. Some of the laws concern specific colleges and universities. Among the provisions are the following: the State Board for Technical and Comprehensive Education; Educational Facilities Act for Private Institutions; State Education Assistance Act; state institution bonds; Federal Student Aid Distribution Committee; licensing of degree-granting nonpublic institutions; preservation of student and institutional records; adult education; home study schools; vocational education; junior college course; Proprietary School Act; training, certification and evaluation of public educators; requirements for admission to graduate programs in school administration; advanced placement courses for academically talented students; residency for tuition and fees; tuition grants; scholarships; enrollment preference granted to residents for state institutions; required subjects; and presidents of student bodies on boards of trustees.
