Guidelines for the Identification of Artistically Gifted and Talented Students.
Elam, Anne H.; And Others
The guidelines present a multi-step procedure for identifying artistically gifted and talented students in elementary and secondary schools throughout South Carolina. An initial section reviews three stages in the identification process: initial screening (through such avenues as faculty/administrator nomination, self nomination, and parent nomination); specific screening (checklists and auditions); and final screening (final auditions and interviews). The use of the South Carolina Rating Instrument for Artistically Gifted and Talented Students is described and sample identification forms included. Specific screening and final screening forms in drama, music, and visual arts are offered for grade levels 1 through 12. (CL)
