In fall 1985, the 1985 graduates of Sinclair Community College (SCC) in Dayton, Ohio, were surveyed to gather demographic data, student objectives, ratings of college services, transfer experiences, and employment experiences. Surveys were mailed to all 1,189 SCC graduates. Study findings, based on a 44% response rate, included the following: (1) 65% of the respondents were female, 88% were Caucasian, and 35% were between the ages of 26 and 35; (2) 57% attended SCC to prepare for a "job to be obtained"; (3) 44.68% of the respondents had taken between 2 and 3 years to complete their degree; (4) 85% rated the quality of instruction as "good" or "excellent"; (5) 25% had enrolled in another college since graduating from SCC, and 76% of those graduates indicated that they had had no problems in the transfer process; (6) 85% were working, and 77% of those were working in a field related to their SCC studies; and (7) of the 91 respondents who had not found employment, 26% were seeking employment and 34% were currently registered with SCC's Placement Office.
