Library Instruction within the Curriculum--The Sciences, Business and Nursing. Projects Developed for a Faculty Development Seminar (Eau Claire, Wisconsin, May 21-22, August 19, and December 11, 1984).
Stevens, Barbara R., Comp.; Engeldinger, Eugene A., Comp.
A general list of suggestions for effective library instruction and library instruction projects in a variety of disciplines are presented in this guide. Developed for a faculty and academic staff development seminar, the Library Instruction within the Curriculum Project, these projects illustrate diverse approaches to library instruction with the common goal of including such instruction as an integral part of a course curriculum. Each project is presented in the form to be assigned to the student, and is introduced or followed by a short commentary on the assignment which describes aspects of the projects that were effective, those that were ineffective, and modifications necessary before the project is used again. Specific projects cover the following subject areas: adult health nursing, allied health, biology, business administration, business education and administrative management, communication disorders, chemistry, English, geography, geology, management information science, medical surgical nursing, and physics and astronomy. Activities include book reviews, term projects, research papers, library assignments, and search projects. (THC)
