This collection of statistical data on Maryland school library media programs is designed to assist local educational agencies in examining their library media collections and staff according to the recommendations in Criteria for Modern School Library Media Programs. The data are arranged alphabetically by local educational agencies, and the listing for each agency includes four tables: (1) school library media collections; (2) school library equipment collections (3) number and percentage of items by school for meeting state criteria for school library media collections; and (4) number of schools meeting state criteria for staffing of school library media centers. In addition, total state tabulations are presented on system level professional library media centers for five categories: grand total collection; print collection; nonprint collection; equipment; and library media center professional and support personnel. The expenditures for textbooks and library resources are included to indicate amounts spent and the variance between institutions. The nonpublic schools have only the school library media center collection listed, and are arranged by local educational agency. (JB)
