This volume, the third in a series of three, contains the reports of four European experiments that were part of a process of cooperative monitoring of a project on adult education and community development. The theme of these experiments is "evolution of the social and cultural roles of women and men." The four experiments are the Twente region (umbrella) project in the Netherlands, the National Federation of Women's Institutes in the United Kingdom, the Ankara project of Turkey, and the Norwegian experiment. Each experiment is described in terms of context, objectives, actions, and activities. The commentary, which concludes each report, highlights significant features of the experiment, including contributions, innovations, potentialities, and limitations. (YLB)
