This volume, the second in a series of three, contains the reports of six European experiments that were part of a process of cooperative monitoring of a project on adult education and community development. The theme of these experiments is "responses to unemployment and to the consequences of economic restructuring." The six experiments are the Padasjoki project of Finland, the FUNOC project of Belgium, the Swedish experiment in Landskrona, the Silkeborg project of Denmark, the Pastorate for Social Affairs project in the Federal Republic of Germany, and the Idee Vosges project in France. Each experiment is described in terms of context, objectives, activities, organization, and results. The commentary, which concludes each report, highlights significant features of the experiment, including achievements, potentialities, and limitations. (YLB)
