Davis, Russell; And Others
This guide is designed to serve as (1) instructional materials for training those assigned to provide technical assistance in the regional planning and articulation of vocational education and (2) a resource to familiarize and train the recipients of the planning processes. Addressed in the individual chapters of the manual are the following topics: the rationale for regional planning and articulation, the representational make-up of the regional planning model, the planning process, orientation and use of the planning committee, procedures for planning on a regional basis, development and implementation of a communication system, and the process of articulation. The final section of the guide contains 26 handouts dealing with such topics as assessing the need for workers in priority occupations; comparing enrollment and labor market projections; administering a community occupational survey; planning a training program; developing a communication system; implementing followup activities; and tracking data flow at the local, regional, and state levels.
