Of Counsel to Classrooms: A Resource Guide to Assist Attorneys and Teachers in Law Focused Education.
Reynolds, Ernest, III, Ed.; And Others
A secondary curriculum for teaching about Texas law is designed for use by both teachers and visiting resource persons. Introductory materials include a preface, acknowledgements, an introduction, and practical suggestions for visiting speakers. The main body of the publication contains nine units of material on the following topics: Texas courts, Texas Bill of Rights, the Texas legislature, the Texas Constitution, women and credit, consumer law, landlord-tenant relations, drug abuse, and alcohol abuse. Each unit contains materials for the resource person, including a rationale, goals, lesson starters, and background notes; also teacher materials, including objectives, infusion suggestions, supplementary materials, discussion topics, student activities, vocabulary, and a bibliography. A directory of law-related education projects and a number of strategies for law-related education conclude the document. (LP)
