Industrial Education Manual for Guidance to Teachers, Counsellors and Administrators.
Alberta Dept. of Education, Edmonton.
This manual is designed to provide ready access to information about the industrial education program in Alberta to junior and senior high school teachers, counselors, and administrators. The manual is organized in 10 sections. The first three sections introduce the concept of industrial education, define it, and set forth the objectives of the program. In the fourth section, the organization of an industrial education program in junior and senior high school is explained. Sections V and VI provide course descriptions for the courses included in the industrial education program (electricity-electronics and computer, materials, power, visual communications, general, graphic communications, mechanics, construction and fabrication, electricity-electronics, personal services, and horticulture), and the courses related to industrial education (production science and work experience), while the following section discusses safety. Organization for teaching is the subject of the eighth section; grants and guidelines for academic-occupational programs for students who cannot keep up with the regular program occupy the final sections.
