BIS: What's It All About? A Manual for Committee Members of the ACRL Bibliographic Instruction Section. Revised.
Association of Coll. and Research Libraries, Chicago, IL.
This revised manual for committee members of the Association of Research Libraries' (ACRL) Bibliographic Instruction Section (BIS) is a guide to the organization, procedures, bylaws, and membership of the committee. Following an introduction and suggested ways to get involved with BIS, three sections describe the structure of the BIS, its association with ACRL, and other bibliographic instruction committees within the American Library Association (ALA). The bylaws first adopted in 1978, a list of required meetings for committee members, and a 1984-1985 organizational chart of the elected officers, executive committee members-at-large, and advisory council members follow. Membership lists and committee charges for 16 committees comprised of approximately 100 active members include names, addresses, and phone numbers, as well as dates of appointment when applicable. An alphabetical listing of committee members for 1984-85 completes the manual. (THC)
