This leader's guide is designed for use in conducting a seminar to train bank employees in correct procedures for issuing and redeeming U.S. Savings Bonds and in answering routine customer inquiries concerning savings bonds. Included in the first section of the guide are an overview of the purpose and content of the seminar, procedures for conducting it, a list of additional resources, suggestions for using the guide, and seminar schedules and formats. The second part of the guide consists of a series of presentation guides dealing with the following session topics: the scope of the seminar, the savings bond program, procedures for issuing Series EE savings bonds, major features and customer benefits of U.S. Savings Bonds, and procedures for redeeming U.S. Savings Bonds. A posttest is provided in the third section of the manual. Concluding the guide are a series of overhead transparency masters, two exercises, and a table of redemption values for Series E bonds as of October 1983. (MN)
