This document contains six major presentations from the 1984 summer workshop, "The C3 Experience: Counseling, Computers, and Creative Change," sponsored by the ERIC Clearinghouse on Counseling and Personnel Services. The first presentation, "Exponential Counseling: Computers as a Multiplier" by JoAnn Harris-Bowlsbey, reviews the role that computers and educational technology can play in expanding the present limits on counseling. The second presentation, "New Directions and Developments in NIE and DIP" by Laurabeth Hicks, presents a perspective on developments within the National Institute of Education and the Dissemination and Improvement of Practice Program (DIP), including potential implications for counseling and human services. The third presentation, "Synergyzing Counseling and Human Services" by Clayton Lafferty, pinpoints the need for changes in thinking to bring about improvements in counseling and human services. "From a Little Bit to a Big Byte: Motivating Your Staff," by Carl Berger, reviews the use of computers in education and the learning process. The fifth presentation, "Creative Sustenance: Enhancing our Capacity to Recreate Counseling" by Garry Walz and Libby Benjamin, addresses the subject of creativity, with comments and ideas of conference participants. The final presentation, "The Workplace of Tomorrow" by Libby Benjamin, describes a variety of alternative futures including employment trends and the impact of technology on occupations and workers and on education and the helping professions.
