Stafford, Mary Ann
Designed as a model for a high school humanities program, this publication outlines a two-course, two-year elective in humanities for high school juniors and seniors. Introductory material includes an overview of the program and its history, credits, goals of the program, and an introduction to humanities. The major portion of the guide contains unit plans for the two courses, Humanities I and Humanities II. Humanities I units are: Tribal Man, Classical Man, Renaissance Man, and Modern Man. Each unit outline covers objectives; introductory, developing, and culminating activities; materials; exercises; and a paper or project. Units in Humanities II are Man and Self, Man and God, and Man and Society. Bibliographies and semester course evaluation forms are also provided. (LP)
