Assessment and Curriculum Guide for Special Students.
Waugh, Julie; And Others
Designed for use with special education students served by special education instructional programs, this guide is intended to help educators implement appropriate career education programing. Moderate to mildly handicapped students are the target population. The guide is based on the objectives that need to be monitored by teachers to assure that students receive a comprehensive career education program. These objectives are grouped under six goals into which the guide is divided: (1) to develop self-appraisal skills; (2) to develop interpersonal skills; (3) to develop decision-making skills; (4) to explore careers, school, and work meanings and values; (5) to clarify school and work meanings and values; and (6) to acquire the skills necessary to carry out a career plan upon high school exit. For each objective, activities, materials, and assessment resources are identified. Some materials necessary for activities are found in an appendix. A bibliography is also provided. (YLB)
