The results of a survey conducted in the black community of Cincinnati, Ohio, are presented in this report. The survey sought to determine the perceptions, views, and attitudes of the city's black citizens regarding key social and economic issues. The report presents findings in the following areas: (1) education, including issues of accountability, citizen involvement, school finance, school closings, and desegregation; (2) community organization and community relations, with discussion on the issues of community councils and neighborhood government, police/community relations, housing, and displacement; (3) health and community services, including discussion on personal health concerns, public hospitals and community clinics, stress and mental health, welfare, social security, youth, and the elderly; and (4) economic development and employment, with a focus on umemployment, income differences between blacks and whites, equal employment programs, and CETA. Also provided is information on the survey methodology and sampling process. Appended to the report are statistical data on neighborhood demographic change since 1960, and age, occupational, educational, and income profiles of black Cincinnatians. (GC)
