The Collegial Evaluation Program: A Manual for the Professional Development of Teachers. Field Test Edition.
Dornbusch, Stanford M.; And Others
The Collegial Evaluation Program leads to improved teaching by systematizing a way for teachers to obtain frequent, focused feedback from themselves, their students, and their colleagues. The process can be used by a single pair of teachers, a teaching team, a department, or an entire faculty. The purpose of this manual is to introduce the idea of collegial evaluation and provide step-by-step directions for its use. The program is organized into a six-step model of evaluation, each dealt with in a separate section: (1) Getting started: choosing a partner; (2) Student evaluations; (3) Selecting criteria; (4) Self-evaluation; (5) Observations and conferences; (6) A plan for professional development; and (6) Adapting Collegial Evaluation for teacher trainees.
