A panel discussion was held on the Student Information System (SIS) established at Ohio State University. The SIS was designed to: (1) document student experiences; (2) diagnose student progress in programs in order to fulfill general student advising and counseling functions; (3) collect data on students and programs for evaluation purposes; and (4) research the nature of teacher education and development and other professional personnel programs. Panel presentations included: (1) "Overview: A System for Documenting and Assessing the Experience of Pre/Inservice Teachers" (Russell J. Spillman); (2) "The History, Purposes, and Conceptualization of the Student Information System" (Nancy L. Zimpher); (3) "Implementation of the Student Information System" (William E.
