A Guide to Using the 10th-Grade Assessment Results.
Florida State Dept. of Education, Tallahassee. Student Assessment Section.
This guide is designed for educators involved in teaching, developing curriculum, or counseling students. It describes six new forms used to report the results of 10th-grade student performance on the Florida State Student Assessment Test, Parts I and II (SSAT-I and -II): (1) Parent Report, SSAT-I; (2) Student Report, SSAT-I; (3) Student Report, SSAT -II; (4) Listing of Achievement Report, SSAT-I; (5) Listing of Achievement Report, SSAT-II; and (6) Test Foil Analysis (SSAT-I). Each report form is illustrated and contains an explanatory key for the reader to identify and understand the report. A brief discussion of the data follows the key and offers some suggestions on how to interpret the example data. The Statewide Assessment Program provides information on the effectiveness of the State, each district, and each school regarding students acquiring and applying basic reading, writing, and mathematics skills. This guide discusses: statewide assessment results; considerations in interpretation; ways to use assessment results; dissemination of results; grouping students for remediation; certifying students for standard mastery; considerations for spring testing; minimum student performance standards and skills; and criteria for achievement of minimum performance standards and skills.
