SCOPE Plan for Excellence. A Citizens' Report and Recommendations for the Broward County School System.
Broward County School Board, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Superintendent's Commission on Public Education.
One hundred and five recommendations for improving the school system in Florida's Broward County are presented in this report. These recommendations and the target dates for their implementation were developed by the Superintendent's Commission on Public Education, a group of 150 community leaders representing all facets of the public. This group outlined a philosophy of education, also presented in this report, and formed seven task forces to develop recommendations in the following areas: school curricular program and instruction, instructional support services, governance, personnel, facilities, finance and administrative services, and community resources. Appendices list surplus and unused school sites and describe a business management committee intended to assist and advise the school board on matters of administrative and fiscal management.
