This module on the musculoskeletal system is one of 17 modules designed for individualized instruction in health occupations education programs at both the secondary and postsecondary levels. It is part of an eight-unit miniseries on anatomy and physiology within the series of 17 modules. Following a preface which explains to the student how to use the module, the unit consists of a pretest with answers, seven sections (information sheets) with their goals (e.g., classify different types of bone), optional activities (e.g., on diagrams of the skeleton, draw the major muscles of the body), and posttests, and a glossary of terms. Topics covered in the unit are introduction to the skeletal system, axial skeleton, appendicular skeleton, introduction to the muscular system, major muscles of the body, supporting structures of the musculoskeletal system, and movements.
