This teacher's guide is designed to provide elementary teachers with an assortment of classroom activities dealing with the Mt. St. Helens eruption of May 18, 1980, in the areas of science, social studies, math, language arts, and school newspaper activities. Copy masters and teacher versions of all activities are contained with this guide, including: (1) objectives; (2) teaching suggestions; (3) answers; (4) special directions for the procedures in the activities. These activities are designed to be used in three ways: (1) as sources for the construction of interdisciplinary units based on Mt.
