This publication, an update of previous reports of the same title, provides information on language programs in Canada under the following headings: (1) programs in the nine provinces (excluding Quebec) including a description of minority language and second language education as well as French immersion programs; and (2) programs in Quebec, including reports on minority language and second language education. A number of statistical figures and tables give participation rates, enrollment trends, percentage of school week devoted to the language in question, and minority language as a second language by province and grade and by province and level since 1970. Historical tables on enrollment and participation rates in French programs (English in Quebec) and French immersion programs are also included. (AMH)
