This resource guide for the use of job aids ("how-to-do-it" guidance) for activities identified in the third phase of the Instructional Systems Development Model (ISD) contains an introduction to the use of job aids, as well as descriptive authoring flowcharts for Blocks III.1 through III.5. The introduction includes definitions; descriptions of classification systems and flowchart symbols; instructions for using the Job Aid Manual; a description of the Job Aids Resource Manual; an explanation of the reporting system; information on the use of field surveys and panels; and an example of a closed form questionnaire together with the procedures for its administration. A flowchart is provided for each of the five activities in Phase III--DEVELOP: (1) specification of learning events/activities, (2) specification of instructional management plan and delivery system, (3) review and selection of existing materials, (4) development of instruction, and (5) validation of instruction.
