Establishing a Career Center in the Secondary Schools.
Moore, Earl J.
This program guide outlines procedures for establishing a career center in the secondary schools. It consists of an introduction and four major sections. The purpose and basic philosophy underlying the career center is outlined in the introduction. Following brief descriptions of 30 typical career center activities, the following aspects of center organization are discussed: administrators, advisory committee, staff, facilities, areas and stations, and college information. Publicizing center events (via bulletin boards, daily announcements and daily bulletins, career center newsletters, and radio and television spots) are covered. The fourth section deals with program assessment. A form for a community resource directory, an employer follow-up questionnaire, a job posting card for placement activities, and structured interview questions for audio tapes are appended. (MN)
