Masonry. Student Material. Competency Based Education Curriculum.

This curriculum for masonry is organized into 12 modules. Each module is comprised of two to nine competency statements. A student competency sheet provided for each competency is organized into this format: module and competency number and name, performance guide (for some competencies), learning activities, and an evaluation. Where appropriate, student quizzes, work sheets, and handouts are included. Titles of the modules include (1) Occupational Knowledge; (2) Leveling, Gaging, and Squaring; (3) Laying Basics; (4) Tooling and Pointing Joints; (5) Patterns; (6) Wall Construction; (7) Laying Columns; (8) Preparing Foundations and Footings; (9) Constructing Buildings; (10) Performing Miscellaneous Masonry Work; (11) Arches; and (12) Constructing Residential Chimneys and Fireplaces .
